The Hotel Receptionist & Opera Training Course
At Reception Academy we offer the market leading Hotel Receptionist Course including Opera PMS.
This 4 week course covers theory, practical sessions behind a replica Hotel desk as well as teaching you how to operate the most used reservation system, (Fidelio) Opera V5 Full Service. Created in connection with Hotels and based on their own requirements, all relevant subjects are covered ensuring each and every student, graduates as a professional, fully trained and exceptional receptionist.
Specifically designed for individuals with no previous Hotel experience, we welcome anyone from any background to join the course and change the path to their future. This course will help you gain all the important skills required to work in major Hotels in the UK & abroad.
Upon completion of the course a profile is created on our website for each graduate. Hotels we work with are also able to access these profiles which consist of the graduate’s CV, contact details as well as information about the location and size of Hotels they would prefer to work for.
As a registered vocational training Academy, offering work experience recognised by the Hospitality Industry, we have connections to over 400 Hotels and have a 95% success rate of putting people in employment at completion of the course.

• Understanding & using Fidelio Opera PMS V5 Full Service - Market Leading Hotel Reservation System
• UK 5* Hotel procedures & brand standards
• Customer service procedures
• Checking Guests in and Out
• All other booking Procedures
• Welcoming guests upon arrival using correct terminology
• Hands-on practise sessions behind our replica Hotel Reception desk
• Introduction to Hotel Accounts used in Front of House
• Becoming familiar with hotel terminology (specific language used in the UK)
• Taking full reservations on the phone and transferring them onto Fidelio Opera PMS
• Guest complaint handling
• Sales & Marketing: learning to up-sell a room to a guest
• Checking-In and Checking-Out guests using Fidelio Opera PMS
• Career path planning for a clear understanding of your future in Hotels
• CV writing skills including our guidance on creating the perfect CV for Hotels
• Interview techniques including our guidance on how to perform in an interview
• Reservation procedures for other departments of the Hotel
