Career Path
Every successful Manager has to start somewhere and in hotels you can either choose between working in Catering, Reservations or Reception, if you are looking to take your career further. At Reception Academy we recommend that you start as a Front of House Receptionist because you learn so much more than you would in any other department of the hotel. This is the hub of the hotel and not only will you be exposed to the guests but you will also be involved in the financial aspects of the business, including Accountancy, Reservations, Sales and IT. This will make you the perfect hotel expert and giving you the skills needed as a Manager.
The grid below shows you what your ideal career could look like.
